Atlantic Center for the Arts: Master Artist in Residence (MAIR)

Megan is honored to serve as a Master Artist in Residence (MAIR) at the Atlantic Center for the Arts from Feb 8-28, 2026. She will lead her cohort of eight artists from various mediums in an exploration of the role that music and the arts can play in climate activism. This residency will focus specifically on the development of a new work, Carnival of the Nearly Extinct Animals, by composer Stephanie Ann Boyd, in collaboration with the other two Master Artists in Residence, John Heginbotham and Greg Corbino.

The Knights at Fishers Island

Megan joins The Knights on Fishers Island for program featuring Kinan Azmeh, the Syrian-born clarinetist and composer. Described as the "intensely soulful virtuoso" by the NY Times, Azmeh's music combines jazz, contemporary classical, and Middle Eastern-infected rhythms and modes. This program features Azmeh's Dear Ocean, a work commissioned by Ocean Music Action. This organization draws attention to issues of ocean sustainability through music and art. Anchoring the program in the classical tradition will be Saint-Saens' poetic Fantasie for violin and harp.

Ocean Music Action’s ‘Everlasting’ program is inspired by the interconnectedness of all living things, and the evolution of this relationship over time. A quartet of musicians (Megan Conley, harp; Shawn Conley, bass; Christina Courtin, violin/vocals; and Colin Jacobsen, violin) as well as dancer Maile Okamura, perform music that honors our forests, oceans, and the creatures that depend on them.
